Vacation Day 1 and 2

So last Sunday around 10am, Hunky Hubs, J myster and I headed out on the open road for our much-needed vacation. Destination San Diego! Hunky Hubs thought about a month back that we should do something really nice, fun and relaxing for ourselves before the baby came because we really didn’t know when we’d be able to take a vacation after that and we knew it would be much easier traveling with 1 child then 2 especially since I’d be breastfeeding every few hours.

At any rate we decided between a Cruise, or a Southern California trip. I was about ready to book the cruise when I realized in fine print that I would not be able to cruise being 24 weeks pregnant. I was fine with it as I’ve been on 2 cruises before but I’d never been to Sea World, so we decided to go that route and see what we could all fit in within a week.

We found 4 in 1 park passes that included Lego Land, Sea World, The San Diego Zoo and The Safari Wildlife Park, and with the passes we could come and go between parks whenever we wanted. It was quite a deal.

So Sunday we left Flagstaff Arizona and arrived in Indio 4 hours later. Anyone who knows how toddlers are, knows that a 6 or 7 hour drive can be impossible with a toddler who just wants to be moving around all the time. Our first stop though before Indio was In N Out in Phoenix. Anytime we go on a road trip In N Out is usually one of our pit stops!

So here J is enjoying some french fries with Daddy!

So we stayed our first night right outside of Palm Springs.  Our first destination, Lego Land since it was on the way to San Diego and about an hour outside of San Diego.

We woke up Monday morning Jazzed to hit the road again. We got a lovely hot complimentary breakfast at the Embassy Suites in Indio. We would need it as walking around Lego Land would completely drain us and the tike.

Now if you’ve never been to Lego Land it is the perfect place to take a little 2-year-old. We thought about doing Disney Land but realized that J just wouldn’t be able to enjoy a lot of the rides there that are geared toward older kids. But at Lego Land J was able to ride about 60 percent of the rides, and I being pregnant was actually able to ride a few rides with him too, which wasn’t the case when we went to Sea World.

I’m never in any pics with the tike, so its nice to see my face next to his! 🙂

I got to ride on the first ride with my J myster and boy did he love it. He laughed! He was excited to be flying in an airplane. Hunky Hubs went on most of the other rides with him just because the lap bar or belt wouldn’t fit over my pregnant belly.

Here are some of my favorites pics of us on rides with our little guy:
 Helicopter ride…
J with a life size R2D2 made of legos.
 In a Lego Land maze!
On a Safari ride with Mama!
And of course on his favorite transportation, a Choo Choo Train ride!

Some of the most impressive things at Lego Land were their miniature cities or buildings. I took tons of pictures of them. A lot featured around Vegas, New York and the Capital.

Here are just a few I thought were neat.

I took about 150 pics of this day in our trip, but I’ve narrowed it down to the highlights here for this blog post. By about 5 in the evening after visiting the Sea Life Aquarium at Lego Land, we decided to make it a day and head to our new hotel in San Diego, we were hungry and all walked out, and my feet hurt.

J slept the whole hour to the hotel. It was a good day!
