Anyway, on to the party, I had to cancel the making of his birthday cake, I can cook many things, but baking a cake and decorating is, is not one of m fortes. I know there are moms that make elaborate birthday cakes for their little ones and they put a lot of hard work into it, and I think that is amazing, but what I do is the birthday video collage. The entire years worth of videos and photos set to tear jerking music and captions. The family comes over, watches and they get to take their own DVD home, and that is how I make birthdays special for my little ones. I guess its just the technological nerdy side to me. But its also something I’m sure I will have a marathon of a day watching when my boys move out and become adults.
Anyway the party was fun. J had a Mickey Mouse birthday cake, that I forgot to take a picture of, we had pizza and a veggie tray, and we opened gifts, then watched J’s video compilation. Afterward, we had cake and then took the kiddos outside for a game of T-ball in the back yard before the wind and dark clouds rolled in, and we had to go back inside.

|My “Four” year old! I still sometimes say “three” when asked. But next year he will be in kindergarten! Not gonna think about that just yet, kinda holding back a tear.|

But next year, at least for J Myster’s birthday celebration, I am seriously looking at not having it at the house. He is make a ton of friends from play group, having his play group friends over, plus family and other friends, that’s one full house, I tell you. We may be looking at doing it at the park, or Peter Piper Pizza or a party hall or something along those lines and saving myself the three day clean up. 😉
