Getting Our Yard Ready For Spring!

SFpeaksMarch2015

As the snow is finally starting to melt off our beautiful San Francisco peaks right here in Sunny Flagstaff AZ, we have big plans for our outdoor spaces. It’s this time of year where we continue projects we’ve put off over the winter and get outdoors and enjoy some sunshine. The boys don’t have to be pent-up inside anymore and they are totally eager to help us in the garden and yard!

A few weeks ago we put up a canopy over our patio, bought a new grill and planted our first set of flowers. This weekend I am excited to hit our local Viola’s for their pansy party to hit off the start of spring!

One of the projects we’ve been working on is building up a rock wall planter area around one of our corner trees in our back yard. My husband has been buying these bricks. We are halfway done with this project. Then we’ll move on to other projects.

Last weekend we planted potatoes and strawberries! A few springs ago we planted potatoes out of three bulbs and got 17 potatoes out of them! So this year, we planted six! The kids are excited about planting them again this year. And I’m loving my daffodils that are in full bloom right now.

When doing things outside in our backyard, the kids love to help. One of the ways they like helping, is hauling things in our new Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Wagon

One of JJ’s favorite things is to have us fill up the wagon with things that need to go across the yard, like sand for the kids’ sandbox, or those bricks my husband is using to enclose the planter area.

With the kids new transport system, we can get things from one side of the yard, to the other pretty fast since we do have quite a spacious back yard!

The Cozy Coupe Wagon is even great for giving little brothers a ride, or friends who stop by to play!

I’ve also been paid in hugs and sticky kisses for giving wagon rides around the yard and we’ll probably use this for walks around the block on weekends too!

And as always Sheriff Braidy makes sure we are following all of the backyard safety rules!

From our swings and sandbox, to our cute cozy coupe ride on toys, Little Tikes is helping us enjoy our backyard this spring. And would like to give one of my readers their very own Cozy Coupe Wagon! Check out the giveaway details here, please note, the giveaway is not live yet. It will start on April 15th.

So what spring projects do you have lined up for your outdoor space?

  1. I love it when the kids want to help in the yard. Getting them involved young might bring a life long love of gardening! I LOVE that you used their toys to help. It makes it much more interesting for them.

  2. How lovely! Our backyard isn’t quite ready for us to tackle yet. We need the ground and water to dry up so we can get out too! The view of those mountains is just beautiful!

  3. I’ve been wanting a wagon for my daughter for a while now and would love to get this for her! I’m sure any of the kids she plays with would love to join her for a ride too!

  4. We love the Wagons and the cars. They last forever and my kids play with them almost everyday. I also enjoy working out in the yard while my kids get some of the crazy energy out!

    1. Finding time can certainly be hard. And today’s weather isn’t great for it. We got sporadic rain and even snow, just not ideal for being outside.

  5. Awesome wagon would love to win one for my goddaughter so we can go on many adventures this summer! She also has a baby sister on the way that she would love to share her new wagon with!!
