It goes without saying that the concept of pregnancy is extremely beautiful. Women are truly the luckiest creatures in the world to be the carriers of new life – to feel the flutters and kicks from within and then to deliver the precious bundle onto the world. However, in between all the beauty and excitement of being pregnant, there is a dark side. There are aches and pains, sleepless nights and constant worry. Every mother knows that as wonderful as pregnancy is, it can be equally as hard. Lucky for us that we live in a modern world filled to the brim with products that can make even the hardest pregnancy easier. Products that can dull the annoying aspects of pregnancy and highlight the beauty of it.

Below are the ten must-haves products to make your pregnancy easier.

Body pillow: One of the biggest complaints about pregnancy is sleeping uncomfortably or not at all. Getting a good night sleep every night is essential because restful nights encourage high energy and less stress. Invest in a high-quality body pillow to gain restful nights all through your pregnancy. Quality body pillows are designed to allow you to sleep in a cradled fetal position, giving adequate support to your back and your belly.

Support band: Maternity support bands like those offered at preggers.com are ideal accessories to encourage comfort and support during pregnancy. This is especially valuable if you intend to work and be on your feet a lot throughout the whole nine months. The breathable band expands around the belly, helping to alleviate discomfort in the back and pelvic region.

Shea butter: Pure unrefined shea butter can be a pregnant woman’s best friend. It contains vitamins A, E and F as well as fatty acids and other skin loving properties that can provide non-clogging, grease-free moisturization. Additionally, pure shea butter is also praised for its ability to help reduce inflammation, prevent stretch marks and provide UV protection. It can be massaged onto your belly and the rest of your body as needed throughout the day.

Fetal Doppler: Renting or purchasing fetal doppler will allow you to listen in to the speedy heartbeats and playful swooshes of your unborn baby. Peaking in every now and then can help put your mind at ease as well as deter stress and anxiety and strengthen the bond between you and your baby.

Maternity workout video: Working out during your pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind. Invest in a great maternity workout video and follow along with it at least four times a week. Exercising during pregnancy can help you sleep better and encourage more energy and a better mood.

Morning sickness relief: Despite its name, morning sickness can strike anytime it wants to, therefore it is essential to always have relief on hand to lessen the symptoms. Options such as ginger candy, peppermint, bland crackers, anise and vitamin C are highly recommended as natural remedies.

Healthy food: Some women use the excuse of pregnancy to eat whatever they want whenever they want to. However, it is important to continue to eat healthy throughout your pregnancy and beyond because what you eat has a huge influence on the way you feel emotionally and physically. Eating larger portions of salmon, eggs, legumes, nuts, yogurt, lean proteins, and colorful fruits and veg can keep help keep your energy levels high and deter constipation and sour mood swings.

Spa days: Visit the spa often to get maternity massages, exfoliation treatments, facials and fresh haircuts. The massages and exfoliation treatments can help with aches and pains and help with blood circulation. And the constant pampering will help you feel as fresh and beautiful.

Comfortable clothing: Comfortable and chic clothing that breathes and allows you to move unrestrictively is very important. Your maternity wear should consist of supportive bras and underwears, slip on shoes, loose-fitting tops and dresses and expandable pants.

Journal: Journaling about your experiences throughout your pregnancy is an incredibly therapeutic exercise that can make you appreciate yourself and your new role as a mother. Afterward, the journal can be kept as a keepsake for you to re-visit anytime you want.

Pregnancy is a gift that is meant to be enjoyed, The must-haves above will help to deter the annoying moments during the next nine months.

  1. I had some of those and the spa day was definitely the most important for me. I loved massages!!

  2. This is a great list for expectant moms! I loved my shea butter and body pillow (especially towards the ends of my pregnancies when it was so hard to sleep comfortably). I also love the suggestion to journal. I did and it is a precious memento now!

    1. I bought a body pillow, but it made me more uncomfortable to be honest. I preferred a regular pillow between my knees.

  3. These are great products to have for an easier pregnancy. I would have loved to have a Fetal Doppler when I was pregnant. For my second pregnancy I didn’t have one ultrasound which I thought was rough. The Shea Butter is great to help the skin stretch which will lesson the stretch marks. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Great idea and gifts for expecting mothers. I wish we would have stuff like this around when I was pregnant. I would have loved the body pillow when I was carrying twins.

  5. Great list and tips! A real must have and for sure, many women will find this helpful enough. Thanks for sharing!
