Teach My Preschool Learning Kit Plus A #Giveaway Ends 11-26

Anyone who knows me knows that educating children is my passion. Man I should have been a teacher, but instead I chose journalism, then “work- at- home- mom- hood”, if that is even a term. It became important to me to education children after realizing that my education was my ticket out of the poor house. Lets just say as a child growing up to an uneducated mother, life was really hard for us, food stamps and welfare was all we knew. I am the only person in my family with a college degree and I credit my foster parents for helping me realize my potential and providing encouragement all the way. It starts at home. It really does! As soon as a child learns their own potential, and its backed by their own drive to succeed, the stars are the limit. It’s why I’ve always fostered a love of learning with both my boys. I’m proud that my first grader is reading on a second grade level at school and I credit teaching him math, sight words and phonics at home before he started Kindergarten. That is why I was happy to give my mommy two thumbs up approval for the Teach My Preschool Learning Kit.

This kit is designed for kids 3 to 6 and helps teach kiddos the basics of letter and number recognition, to simple math and reading. By the way Teachmy.com has a variety of learning kits from Teach My Baby, Teach My Toddler and even bathtub learning kits! I encourage you to check out each one. The one I’ll be talking about here, is the Preschooler kit.

My three-year old is at the stage where he’s in between scribbling and writing. He loves to just scribble on paper, but he likes attempting to write letters. When he writes one he gets so excited and I give him all the excitement and praise I can muster up because I know he tried his hardest and it’s a great accomplishment for them when they can actually start writing letters.

While my three-year old is a pro at recognizing all the letters in the alphabet and numbers 1 to 13, he has trouble with letter sounds. Studies show that if preschoolers can identify letter sounds, reading comes a whole lot easier for them. Being able to put two or more letter sounds together in pre-school helps them immensely during the first few years of grade school. As a parent I want learning to come as fun and easy as possible for my kiddos and kits like this help it become fun.

What I love about this kit is that even my six-year-old can use it. I found him on his own practicing and writing down “number words” like nintey-nine. Jaydon loved the poster chart with the numbers from 1 to 100 and had to count them all for me as soon as we opened the box. 😉

You can use foam numbers and people to teach simple addition and subtraction.

There are also little booklets to teach letter sounds. It also includes booklets that teach high frequency/sight words.

The kit also includes a little reward tin. But we’ve been using it to store the foam numbers.

Overall, I give Teach My an A +. I feel like it includes all the materials parents need to help prepare preschoolers for Kindergarten and beyond. I love its convenient carrying case so you can keep all the materials neatly tucked away.  You can purchase these kits at Walmart and ToysRUs!

So guess what? The People at TeachMy.com want to give one of my readers one of these fabulous teaching kits! I’m really excited for one of you to win this.
