Making The Most of Your Honeymoon

Most couples spend months selecting their honeymoon destination, which is important as the trip signifies the start of marriage life, and the memories you make will remain with you forever. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your honeymoon:

1. Try something new:

Going on a honeymoon is a once in a lifetime experience for every couple. To make it really special, you should aim to try things you have never done before. For example, you can try out scuba diving, rafting or other adventure sports. Adrenaline fuelled moments can really make the connection between a couple stronger and sharing a thrilling experience with your loved one will be something you’ll remember forever.

2. Surprise your spouse:

Honeymoons are all about being romantic. While a lot of your holiday may already be planned out if you go for an all-inclusive option or are super-organised, surprising your loved one with a romantic meal or spontaneous excursion can go a long way. Simple things to show your partner how much they mean to you will ensure your honeymoon is a success.

3. Chill out at a spa:

With the stresses of everyday life, your number one priority on a honeymoon is likely to be to chill out together in pure relaxation. There is simply no better way to achieve this than at a spa. Nowadays, most spas have special Honeymoon packages where they will arrange a suite, some food and champagne for you along with massages and whatever else you choose. It may be slightly expensive, but it is definitely a very romantic experience and a great way to unwind.

5. Arrange a picnic:

A picnic is a great way to relax and enjoy the great outdoors with your loved one. Find a nice romantic spot in the country you are visiting, pack some quality food (local cuisine is always best) and sit back. To make things even more romantic, you could plan to have your picnic so you can see the sun set.

6. Enjoy some alone time:

Although the main point of a honeymoon is having some quality time with your partner, that doesn’t mean you have to spend 24 hours a day together. It’s important that you also enjoy some alone time by reading a book or going for a walk. You don’t even have to be apart, just being in the company of each other while doing something you love is a great way to make your relationship stronger. Getting some alone time will help recharge your batteries and ensure that you aren’t stepping on each other’s toes.

7. Have fun:

Your honeymoon is the perfect time to completely unwind and have some serious fun! We’re sure that if you’re just married, you make each other laugh, but why not try some other fun activities such as paintballing or go-karting.

8. Explore:

No doubt you have plenty of things planned for your big honeymoon, but sometimes setting some time aside to simply wander and explore the place you’re in can have huge rewards. You’ll often find that the hidden gems of a city are discovered completely by accident when you’re least expecting them.

  1. Go to a Spa and have a picnic are some ideas that I love. This would be great to do for a honeymoon. And getting out and exploring is a great way to have fun on a honeymoon.

  2. I really liked your ideas! They are “share worthy”!! Unfortunately, we didn’t have one until years later! My dad died suddenly 3 days before our wedding & we got married the day after Christmas so our marriage had its trials from the get go! Thanks for sharing! Happy Anniversary – nice pic!
