When Big Dreams Come True

Hey Ya’ll! (That’s my Texas side coming out!) Remember that post where I said I had some exciting news and that we were in transition and that I’d tell you all about our exciting news soon?! Well I’m about to tell you what the Jones’s have been up to. It’s actually been almost a year in the making. Yep last September is when our minds started to shift to places outside of Flagstaff Arizona. My husband decided to start a search for employment in Oregon, Colorado and California. I was my husband’s right hand and helped him fill out online applications while he was at work. My husband had half a dozen interviews before he landed an amazing job opportunity in one of those awesome states. Without disclosing too many personal details, that job offer in conjunction with the house we lived in for 4 years and basically “flipped”, helped us get into the house we just bought. I never thought in a million years, we’d get the amount of equity we did in the house we bought four years ago.  I never knew at the time that the purchase of our previous house, would get us into our dream house.  Buying a house when it was a buyers market and selling that house when it was a seller’s market plus what our realtor called “Sweat equity” sealed the deal. We put in so much work into that house from new roofs, to new siding, a kitchen backsplash, landscaping, lots and lots of painting inside and out and it finally paid off. We were able to sell it and get this amazing home!!!

This is what we are finally calling home sweet home.

JJ will be starting at a new school this fall and we are very excited to see what life brings us here and to enjoy some of the amazing things about our new home. For starters I have two covered porches awaiting long talks with cups of coffee in hand with some good friends, one in the back and one in the front. I’ve always wanted that! I also have a mud room right off the garage. With two messy boys I love containing their muddy winter boots to the mud room which also has the washer and dryer in it and the downstairs bathroom.

I will also be enjoying many an evening sipping wine right from my own jetted tub. After four years of not having a master bathroom, I will take advantage of this corner tub with a glass of wine in hand!

We will also enjoy many a gathering in this kitchen with those double ovens and island for eating around.

And another awesome thing, my husband gets a legitimate man cave, “not just the fourth bedroom”.  My boys get their own rooms, I still have an office that will double as a guest bedroom/media room.

I can tell you that I feel blessed. I feel like hard work, being smart, and God’s blessing on our lives has helped us to get where we are. I couldn’t be happier right now. Life is good and I’m ready for this new adventure….just as soon as we get more boxes unpacked and we get settled in.
