Five! Five is a big deal, isn’t it? I mean if one didn’t mean the end of babyhood and two didn’t mean the beginning of toddlerhood and independence, five clearly says, “Yo, I ain’t no baby anymore!”. Yes, I know that was a double negative. 😉
My youngest turned five.
I’m still trying to process it. While a part of me is sad, I have become a little excited to see what the years hold for me while my kids are getting an education. I am diving back into what I love and I’m hoping it takes off in a way that contributes to our household income in a much better way than it does now! You have to “try” to follow your dreams right? This might be my last shot.
Anyway, on to my five-year-old!
Braidy, while still searches for the right words when trying to communicate a good portion of the time, is a smart cookie. He’s memorized things I never thought he’d take the time to memorize. He loves specifically to memorize songs on the radio. His favorite artist as of late is Andy Grammer, and I can attest that both he and I love jamming out to a good Andy Grammer song! Not only does he love singing, he’s a dancing machine. He really can bust some moves as a five-year-old and carries a little bit of rhythm too, also odd for four/five. I’m not saying this kid is a marvel in any way although he can do a head stand.
Check it out:
While he’s not like my oldest who likes to challenge himself with his homework, math skills, and piano, he does have some gifts that hopefully will be used one day. For starters, he’s a complete techy just like his IT father. We got him one of those Vtech watches so he can walk around like a boss like his dad. It really was the perfect gift for him. He’s also mastered Xbox controllers. He is in love with Lego games, from Harry Potter, to the Marvel characters and probably any Lego themed game out there. While a part of me is worried for his teen years, I think just like his older brother he’ll grow into wanting to play with friends more when of course he’s allowed to wander down to a friends’ house like his older brother.
Braidy is also sweet and says “I love you mommy”, all the time!! He’s inquisitive, and he’s funny. But I also love his non-hyper side. He doesn’t tend to hype out like another kid I know and I love that about him.
Happy Birthday, Braidy! You are loved!
