About Me

heartfullyheatherbio

I live in a little mountain town with a train that whistles, and a beautiful night sky where Pluto was discovered. I run on coffee and creativity and aspire to be the next Joanna Gaines with a love of decorating spaces like no other. I also love to share some of those design ideas  right here on Heartfully Heather along with recipes my family loves and begs for!

In 2004, I graduated college at NAU (Northern Arizona University) with a degree in Electronic Media and an emphasis in Journalism. From there, I went right into my career and became a director of the 6 and 10 pm newscasts at KNAZ in Flagstaff Arizona, where I met my husband and true best friend.

In 2008 my world changed when KNAZ shut it’s doors while I was pregnant with our first child.  It was a very uncertain time for us, but we’ve persevered through the storms. I started up my freelance writing business and this blog while raising our boys.

You’ll find me blogging about my latest home decor project, feeding a family on a budget, raising our boys and more. If you are a local Flagstaff business, hit me up! I’d love to work with you and help you promote your brand or business.  Now that my kids are getting older, I’m itching to get the creative juices flowing and that includes helping small businesses with marketing strategies, writing, and business photography.

  1. If you like mountain life and beach life, consider living in central North Carolina. Two hours east and you’re at the beach. Two hours west and you’re in the mountains. It’s gorgeous there.

  2. you write so beautifully and heartfelt! I’m so glad you’ve found your love a your passion now despite hard times. As a fellow blogger know your not alone and we hear you!! I’m battling chronic disease at the moment while raising my little family too… blogging gives me my voice and makes my problems feel small in the whole scheme of things… my family and my writing gets me through… don’t ever stop. You have a gift … I’ve subscribed so I can keep hearing about your story…. Poppy :o)

  3. Glad I found another great mommy blogger to follow through Love, Mrs. Mommy! It’s always so great to be able to connect with other mommies– I will be a first time mommy as of November 1, 2016! So I need lots of resources, support, and guidance from other mommies out there ! 🙂

  4. First I read of your incredibly difficult childhood…then your fantastic successes…you truly are an inspiration
