Man what a ride! From going to infertility to having a beautiful bouncing laughing baby boy with no problems except acid reflux. I rang in 2009, 7 months pregnant, and now almost 10 months later we have a house full of laughs and giggles and little feet toddling every where. One thing is for sure. J’s moods are like mine. When he is happy…he is freaken HAPPY! When he is upset or mad, he’s MAD! Just like me. I wear my emotions on my sleeve sometimes.
My troubled youth has given me opinions about family and the expectations you should have of each other. Today’s teenagers have no idea what work is. They quit everything when it’s too hard, or they don’t like it. There is no follow thru. But expect so much from the world, when they give soo little. I know my grandmother as a child had to do farm work and house work starting as soon as she could walk and talk. I had plenty of chores when I was little, but today’s teenager thinks its abuse and then wonders why they get fired from their jobs when they don’t want to work.
Anyway, despite the dwindling finances from being a stay at home mother, and them continuing to dwindle every month, I am blessed, and 2009 was a good year for us. My husband got his job at the hospital. We got our baby boy and we are breathing the air of freedom in the greatest country in the world, despite its political jargon and the economy. Not sure what 2010 holds for us, but I’m sure it won’t be as good as 2009. I will eventually have to go back to work. Would like to wait until J is 2 though, unless I can start up this home day care thing I want to do. But I need an extra room. One for the toddlers and J’s room for the babies. Maybe one day I will be able to do this.
Here is what happened with J’s first year:

With all of these accomplishments of his, I can’t wait to see what is next, but I do look back on the year with a little sadness knowing I can’t get any of it back. But at least I attempted to absorb every bit of it, and make it worth while. I probably took more pictures of J than any mother alive, but I have so many things to put into scrapbooks when I can afford to scrapbook them, and his baby blog has been the perfect thing to keep track of all his little milestones, so even if I make it a year later, I will know when and how things happened.
