33 Weeks! Just 6 weeks to go…

Time is creeping by! I am 33 weeks pregnant and I still have this entire list of things I would like to get done before the baby comes. I, unfortunately, have only made about 9 cloth diapers, I planned on making 30…..huge disappointment there and you all know how expensive cloth diapers are, but it’s clear I’m gonna have to buy some. I’ve gotten other things ready though. The baby’s room is pretty much ready minus putting bedding in the crib, which we probably won’t do til the week of, or maybe not yet at all since the baby will most likely be in a pack n play either in our bedroom or downstairs for quite a few weeks.

Last week I took the time to go through all the boxes of J Myster’s old clothes and got all his old baby clothes out. I now have everything organized from (NB – 3 mos) , 3 to 6mos, 6 to 9 and so on. I discovered I only had like 2 newborn outfits. So Thankfully my niece in law bought baby brother some clothes and gave back some hand me downs I gave her when she had her son. So it looks like other than some cute Christmas outfits I want to get the baby, that the baby will be fully outfitted for each stage of his life all thanks to big brother! Sometimes its really great to have two children of the same-sex. You can save a ton of money on clothes!

In addition to that, I’ve started an online job working as a search engine evaluator. It’s not as easy as it sounds…but if I make it thru the first three weeks/month I’ll let you know if I recommend it as a work at home job for moms. Right now I’m not too sure its feasible with children…but we shall see. It’s definitely something I was interested in so that I could choose my own hours and spend more time with my kids. (That will be a future blog post, if it’s something I’m successful at.)

Now back to the baby….yikes, I just can’t believe in 6 weeks he will be here, and in about 2 and half weeks I will be getting maternity pictures taken! I’m super excited about that! My last pictures were taken at Sears and well there’s just not as much creativity with store-bought family pictures… you get my drift.

I am writing list after list of stuff I need to do, and it seems that I keep adding more things, than crossing things off. Do you ever get this way when you get to the end of your pregnancy? I’m feeling tired, overwhelmed, but also frantic to get things done. For example, I’m trying to come up with two weeks worth of guest blog posts that I can share on my blog for when the baby comes to keep my blog alive for those two weeks. I’ve even scheduled auto-tweets and some posts to appear on Bloggy Moms and Mom Blogger’s Club. I also even have the Hump Day Hop scheduled those two weeks so no one will miss out on the blog hops or the “Share your Blog Post” hop.

So what do you do to prepare for baby? Do you get all panicky? Or are you a calm put together mama?

  1. When I was awaiting my little bundle ( she’s 31 now) I was pretty well put together I had read every book and studied and taken really good care of myself. I planned an all natural ( drug free) birth and I was ready. But on the big day Mount St Helens erupted and we ended up driving to the hospital covered in ash and the car was sputtering. …. but all went well ( after a long labor)
Heather you are doing great xo

  2. I was panicky! I read books, made lists, organized, cleaned, etc. 24/7!!! I’m planning on being more calm with our next baby, but when I say that my husband laughs at me.

  3. Clearly, I am a panicky mama, I am about 2 weeks behind you and I am kinda sorta freaking out about the details, but I know it will all come together soon! Looking forward to following your journey!

  4. I’m a FTM at 31 wks and I’m far from ready except the newborn onesies handed down by a friend… Just waiting for the baby shower to get some goodies hopefully!! But yeah totally freaking out. The months go by pretty fast…

  5. You know, after all the preparations I did with my daughter, we ended up crashing on the way to the doctor for a checkup which induced my labor. I had to have her at the hospital right then and there, without any of my labor bag or even my glasses because they broke in the accident. I try to keep that in mind when I get crazy. Everything worked out just fine when it all went the “wrong” way… It all still worked out and I came home with a healthy bebe. =)
