A Spring Cleaning of My “Time”…

CrystalCove

I have not been well this week. Mentally I mean. I feel so scattered and like I just can’t complete anything. I need to step back and reevaluate my time and make sure I’m doing things that are necessary. I feel like when I’m in writing mode, my house is in shambles, when I’m on top of the house, my email has 500 plus messages I have to sift thru. When I’m on top of both of those, my kids are being neglected and something or someone suffers. They say don’t multitask, give one thing your ultimate time and attention and do it well. Please please someone tell me how to do this when you are a work at home mother?

The great part about my job is I can literally work in my PJ’s. The bad part about my job is I am such a bad mmultitasker So I can see now is the time to do a sort of spring cleaning of my time. What am I just wasting my time doing, what can be cut and how can I make sure the kids, whom I’m doing all this for, don’t suffer.

At least I’m good at getting them out and doing stuff. They don’t just sit around watching TV. Today we hit the library for their spring break craft day. We got all excited about the first day of spring and checked out some books.

Celebrating Spring at Library Craft Day!

Just planted seeds in little tin cans.

Happy First Day of Spring! Then we hit Sprouts for some fruits and veggies. But of course, we came home to a disaster of a house and an inbox full of people wondering where the hell I went off to.  I know I’m not the only one being pulled in a million directions. I  really need to know how other work at home moms do it. When I stick to a schedule, my kids are all discombobulated if one day we have to mess that schedule up, then it seems like it takes me a week to regain order back in the house. I seem to thrive on order, but then that takes the fun out of things. I’m struggling right now trying to mentally figure out how to keep my arms and legs from being pulled in different directions, figuratively. It’s time to spring clean in all sorts of ways around here, and first I’m making a check list of things to say “no” to.What do you need to spring clean in your life….not necessarily talking about your house, but maybe about things in your life you need to throw out to make room for the things that really matter?
