Last week I got my kids in front of the camera to help me review some fun snacks that came in the mail for us. The common denominator for the snacks we received is that they are friendly to certain allergies/intolerances some might have. Since kids are pretty honest when it comes to sampling foods, I thought they’d give the best reviews! Please do keep in mind people have different tastes, so anything my kids say in the video about a food, should not be taken as gold. Research it yourself to find out for sure.
In our snacking food review, we sampled these products:
- Snikkidy Organic Baked Mac n Cheese Puffs (Certified Gluten-free, no nuts or high fructose corn syrup)
- Good Health Sriracha Veggie Straws (Certified Gluten-Free)
- Enjoy Life Grain and Seed Bars (Allergy friendly to most known allergies like: wheat, dairy, soy, gluten, sulfites, lupin, fish, crustaceans, peanuts, tree nuts, casein, egg, sesame, mustard and shellfish.
- Nutiva O’Coconut Classic & Hemp and Chia lightly sweetened coconut treat (Vegan and Non-GMO)
- GAEA Cauliflower Snack Marinated in Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Lemon (Vegan and Gluten-Free) made in Greece.
- GAEA Carrot Snack Marinated in Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Lemon (Vegan and Gluten-Free) made in Greece.
After the video you can see details on each product sampled and if you click on the links, you can find out where to purchase:
These puffs are delicious and addicting. Prior to starting my 30-day wheat and dairy elimination diet I probably secretly snacked on more of these puffs than the kids did! They are gluten-free, free of nuts and high fructose corn syrup, but does consist of dairy. They are really really good!! Don’t buy those cheese balls anymore, this is much better for you, and doesn’t have food dye in it!
These veggie straws are good. My kids loved chowing down on them as an afternoon snack. The Sriracha flavor could be considered hot to some, but they didn’t phase my kids. They are also gluten-free and non-GMO.
These grain and seed bars are currently one of my favorite snack foods so far because I can eat them on my 30-day elimination diet since they are dairy and wheat free. This company has my heart because they truly understand people with allergies and the problems they face every day. It’s often hard to find packaged food that does not contribute to one food allergy or another. So the fact that Enjoy Life has eliminated so many common allergies and intolerances, makes me happy! These delicious grain and seed bars are free from these food allergies: wheat, dairy, soy, gluten, sulfites, lupin, fish, crustaceans, peanuts, tree nuts, casein, egg, sesame, mustard and shellfish.
These little treats are wonderful. They are lightly sweetened and my kids think of them like cookies, but they aren’t quite the consistency. They are dense and full of flavor and very filling without being full of the calories. They are also organic, Non-GMO and made without corn, soy or cane sugar and only 60 calories each! The O’Coconut Hemp & Chia has a nutty taste along with Omega-3 benefits. I have found them delicious and prefer the hemp and chia.
These snacking veggies were not our favorite mainly due to the pickled taste it has. However, this is a company in Greece and if you know anything about a lot of Greek foods, this olive oil/lemon marinade is not strange to the foods eaten there. I might give the cauliflower a second chance. But I was not a fan of the carrot. For those that love pickled foods, these are vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO.
We want to say thank you to all the brands that sent us food. We are extremely grateful for the chance to explore new foods we wouldn’t otherwise buy, but will definitely consider now that we’ve sampled them. Per FCC regulations I am required to disclose my relationships with brands. We were not paid to write this review, but we were given free products in exchange for our honest opinions.
