Details on the HP Envy #Intel2in1

If you’ve seen my other two posts about the HP Envy #Intel2in1, then you know how much I love my new laptop/tablet. I figured in this post I would talk about some of the specifications of this tablet and laptop in one. I touched on it in the first post by just providing the details, but I didn’t talk about it much.

Why is an Intel 2 in 1 the way to go? Well since portability is what people are loving right now, having a laptop/tablet that does not have a spinning drive makes it less susceptible for damage. The keyboard detaches from the screen/tablet and can be used separately or not at all, it has a touch screen laptop, if you’d just like to use the onscreen keyboard.

There is no disc drive because disc drives are the thing of the past since every application you’d ever need can be downloaded from the google app store or put on a USB drive and installed that way.

The touch screen is nice, I find myself typing with the bluetooth keyboard, and using my finger to scroll through pages I’m reading. I, being a tablet person, find it much easier to touch the screen, than use a mouse.

It has two USB drives, currently one USB drive is used for my wireless mouse, I like that better than the mouse on the keyboard…just because it’s what I’m used to. I like the screen size of the 13-inch one, it doesn’t seem too small, or two big, it’s about the size of your standard laptop screen and I like that! I like have a lot of screen space.

Videos on the Intel 2 in 1 play with awesome high-definition display. I watched a Hulu episode of Nashville on it and couldn’t believe how clear the image was. It does have an HDMI import so it should be able to connect to anything else that uses HDMI, including your TV to stream or play High Definition videos and audio.

It has a micro SD card slot, but I don’t really use micro least not yet.

The keyboard is bluetooth and charges with the screen/tablet. I like this feature because I don’t need two separate charging cords…it just does it simultaneously.

The keyboard is really nice too! I love the leather back. It feels very “executive”. and the back-lit keyboard is such a nice feature, considering some of the work I do, is while my family is sleeping. I really like being able to do work without a light on sometimes so I don’t have to disturb anyone in my house.

Also another feature that I don’t use often, but love is the built-in camera. My husband does leave for business trips and the kids and I love to skype with him. My husband has said the nightly prayer with the kids from hundreds of miles away via skype and this kind of technology helps us to feel a bit closer when there are miles between us.  The onboard camera is HP TrueVision Full HD WVA Webcam with Dual Digital Microphone and it takes pretty good images.

The kids love the fun things you can do while using the camera. It’s like being in our own personal photo booth.

The onboard audio is BeatsAudio™ with 2 speakers. The best part is the memory and hard drive. The HP Envy Intel 2 in 1 gives you 8GB Memory and the hard drive is a solid state 128 GB of space, but you can get one with up to 512GB. That’s a whole lot better than my 5-year-old laptop!

Another nice feature is that you can activate computer lo-jack. If you use your laptop in public places a lot, you can sign up for their one year two-year or four-year computrace LoJack plan in case your 2 in 1 ever gets stolen.
With the addition of the new HP Envy Intel 2 in 1, my office “blogging” time, is no longer a head banging frustrating time with a slow computer. I enjoy sitting in there and pumping out a post, editing pictures and doing the work I need to do in a timely manner.  Blogging just got easier and more fun!

  1. Wow Heather! I love that. It is so nice. I can hear my laptop drive churning constantly. It is about 5 years old now, and slow. I would love to replace it with one of these. Unlike you, I do prefer using a mouse to touching the screen. I just find on the tablet I do have, or on my phone, that I always end up touching the wrong thing, and that slows me down too. 🙂

  2. This product sounds aewsome! I am actually looking for a laptop just like this! I love anything 2 in 1 as well!

  3. Ahh! The kids turned into aliens lol! I really need a new laptop and am aiming for Christmas! I love that it doesn’t have a spinning drive because mine does and it drives me nuts since it is old and spins all the time!!

  4. I have been using my old desk top since my laptop died on me recently. I think I would enjoy the versatility of having the hp envy intel 2 in 1. I love being able to use the touchscreen instead of a mouse.

      1. Isn’t that the truth? Technology is constantly changing, it is kinda sad though that something that is only a few years old isn’t still cutting edge. I guess as long as it does what you need it to do. I always pass on older devices to the kids.

  5. That looks like a cool laptop. I am in need of a new one. I will check this one out. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  6. I only have a desktop at the moment but if it ever decides it needs to be replaced I will probably go with a laptop. This one does sound like one that would be easy for me to work on and learn.

  7. This is really nice, I live the leather onto back. HP is very popular and I can say this HP intel is really amazing.

  8. What a cool laptop! I really like it and it looks so good at keeping in touch with loved ones. I need a new one and I would love to get this for my birthday!

  9. I have been reading up on new models of home computers. I love the backlit keyboard on this one! Everyone I know likes to work online late at night too. The part about the keyboard and the computer charging together is a handy feature. This would make a great gift.
