Why is an Intel 2 in 1 the way to go? Well since portability is what people are loving right now, having a laptop/tablet that does not have a spinning drive makes it less susceptible for damage. The keyboard detaches from the screen/tablet and can be used separately or not at all, it has a touch screen laptop, if you’d just like to use the onscreen keyboard.
There is no disc drive because disc drives are the thing of the past since every application you’d ever need can be downloaded from the google app store or put on a USB drive and installed that way.
The touch screen is nice, I find myself typing with the bluetooth keyboard, and using my finger to scroll through pages I’m reading. I, being a tablet person, find it much easier to touch the screen, than use a mouse.
It has two USB drives, currently one USB drive is used for my wireless mouse, I like that better than the mouse on the keyboard…just because it’s what I’m used to. I like the screen size of the 13-inch one, it doesn’t seem too small, or two big, it’s about the size of your standard laptop screen and I like that! I like have a lot of screen space.
Videos on the Intel 2 in 1 play with awesome high-definition display. I watched a Hulu episode of Nashville on it and couldn’t believe how clear the image was. It does have an HDMI import so it should be able to connect to anything else that uses HDMI, including your TV to stream or play High Definition videos and audio.
It has a micro SD card slot, but I don’t really use micro SD..at least not yet.
The keyboard is bluetooth and charges with the screen/tablet. I like this feature because I don’t need two separate charging cords…it just does it simultaneously.
The keyboard is really nice too! I love the leather back. It feels very “executive”. and the back-lit keyboard is such a nice feature, considering some of the work I do, is while my family is sleeping. I really like being able to do work without a light on sometimes so I don’t have to disturb anyone in my house.
Also another feature that I don’t use often, but love is the built-in camera. My husband does leave for business trips and the kids and I love to skype with him. My husband has said the nightly prayer with the kids from hundreds of miles away via skype and this kind of technology helps us to feel a bit closer when there are miles between us. The onboard camera is HP TrueVision Full HD WVA Webcam with Dual Digital Microphone and it takes pretty good images.
The kids love the fun things you can do while using the camera. It’s like being in our own personal photo booth.
The onboard audio is BeatsAudio™ with 2 speakers. The best part is the memory and hard drive. The HP Envy Intel 2 in 1 gives you 8GB Memory and the hard drive is a solid state 128 GB of space, but you can get one with up to 512GB. That’s a whole lot better than my 5-year-old laptop!
