Donuts With Dad and Muffins With Mom

So my Kindergartener, soon to be a 1st grader, had a little function at his school this morning that was so sweet. As a parent when you drop your child off at school, you know that there are so many things you don’t get to see from the time you drop them off to the time you pick them up. So on days like today, I love the glimpse I get when we get invited to school functions. I love seeing the things he’s working on, all the projects he’s doing, all the things he knows that I had no idea he even knew!

Today was a special day. It was Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad. We were invited to the school to have muffins and donuts with our kids and JJ unveiled a special gift he had been working on at School for me for Mother’s Day!

Look at this beautiful picture he made me!? This is something I will always cherish! I love how he has been so excited about this gift he wanted to give me that it was all he could talk about for two whole weeks! Isn’t that sweet?

Now if only he was this sweet all the time right!?

I just want to give a big shout out today to all the moms celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend and say hey lady, you made it one more year! Parenting can totally take its toll on us with all the work that goes into it day in and day out, and you deserve a day that is all about you! You deserve to be pampered! I hope all you moms and grandmas out there have a fabulous weekend filled with love and time doing something you cherish!

Happy Mother’s Day!

  1. How cute that they are giving muffins for moms and donuts for dads at the same time at your son’s school! In our kids’ school it is always on different days, so moms and dads don’t cross paths. We will have a similar event just for moms at my girls’ school on Monday – I can’t wait!

  2. I always loved when my son was little and gave me little gifts he made at school. I still have most of them and a few of them are still displayed around the house. He’s 17 now and he’s wondering when I’m going to take them down. NEVER! lol Have a happy Mother’s Day!

  3. That is the sweetest little present I ever did see. Wonder how he managed not to tell you all about it for an entire two weeks? Maybe he was bragging to his Dad?

  4. Oh how adorable and how fun for all of you. I really love the pictures which will be special. The present is the best ever, I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day.

  5. Awww Happy Mother’s Day to you. I love when the kids make me presents my daughter gave me something her pre k class did and it’s the best present ever.

  6. I hope you had a lovely Mothers Day with your little guy! The picture he made you is so beautiful, definitely something to treasure forever 🙂

  7. He did a great job on your picture frame. I miss going to school to surprise them at lunch or events like this one. I have another year before my youngest goes off to kindergarten unless we decide to homeschool. My other kids are teenagers now and usually don’t want me to come visit (Unless we go off campus and eat).

  8. These are the Mother’s Day gifts I so miss getting. I used to love the gifts from my boys they would make for me when they were little. I love your picture from your son. Thanks so much for sharing.

  9. I love that they combine to two events. I am PTA president at my sons school and never thought to combine our moms and muffins with dads and donuts

  10. This is SUCH a sweet gift! I love the picture too! I want to do something with my kiddo like this for Father’s day too! I always love going to school functions too! I love seeing what he is doing!
