You know that feeling you have, when you step outside on a warm day after days of being cooped up inside trying to survive winter?! Yah that feeling!
We had a rare warm day on Sunday…my 16 day long cold has started to taper off although I still have outrageous coughing fits every now and then and still can’t hear through one ear. Since we both have been eagerly waiting for warmer temps to explore our new stomping grounds we thought a wonderful Valentine’s day gift for each other would be bikes!
Let me tell you why.
Loveland and Fort Collins are connected by such amazing walking/biking trails. There are still parts of it that the city needs to finish, but these trails connect Loveland to Fort Collins and offers over 20 miles of paved trails that wind through local parks, along the Big Thompson River, through residential neighborhoods, through Boyd Lake State Park, the Loveland Civic Center and up through parks in Fort Collins. This is exciting for us! The two hobbies I plan on pursuing this spring/summer are biking and paddle boarding. Scott has told me that my mother’s day gift will be a paddle board. I am so stoked! I can not wait to get out on the water and enjoy paddling across one of the many lakes in this region.
Anyway…since the next day (Monday) we got 8 inches of snow its nice to reflect on Sunday’s weather. Outside of huge 40/50 mph wind gusts, it was a nice 61 degrees, perfect for bike riding. We of course wanted to attach our go pro to our bikes and show you the trails, but we couldn’t get anything to work when we got our bikes out. It was kind of like one mishap after another. We decided that we would still enjoy it anyway, even though this video could have been way better if our equipment was cooperating. Enjoy!
How’s the weather where you are at? Are you itching for winter to go away so you can get outside?
