Friends, Margaritas and S’mores

I know its Tuesday and I’m writing about my weekend, but it was so much fun. It was so much fun I didn’t get my regular weekend prep done, including the menu planning I usually do for the following week and the posts I usually write up.

But that’s ok….fun is well more fun!

Saturday morning started off with attending a little one’s third birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza, then from there, one of our friends attending the party, invited us over for margaritas and s’mores. Its been quite some time since Scott and I were invited over for drinks…if ever, usually its dinner out somewhere. Anyway, we brought camping chairs and since their place was a little outside of town we had an amazing view of the night sky! We could even see the milkway! We saw shooting stars and satellites. We ate s’mores and drank a margarita by the fire and the kids were running around with lanterns playing in a tent they had set up for them. It was so much fun and I laughed so much. It’s nice to sit around and enjoy your friends company and just shoot the breeze.

Saturday evening I also got a text from a friend living in Phoenix, saying she was coming up for a day visit the next day with her boyfriend. The last time I saw them, it was the beginning stages of a relationship hoping to take off, and I’m so glad it did! They make a cute couple!

So Sunday I woke up, got the house ready for company but it didn’t really matter, we walked around downtown Flagstaff for a little bit, I bought some honey at the Farmer’s Market we wandered through and then we decided to picnic at the lake and bring the kids.

We got some supermarket sandwiches and drove out to Lake Mary where a triathlon had just taken place. In fact runners were still coming in and we heard the “Iron Man” race was going on as well. I swear there are some awesome athletes around here.

My friends from the valley (where the high that day was 117), enjoyed a day out of the heat where it got up to only 80 something.

We grabbed ice cream after leaving the lake, and they headed back to the hundred degree heat. I think sometimes its a good thing that I live where I live. People usually find a way to escape the heat and come up for a visit.

I might be a little behind on all the things I need to get written, but I’d rather have the company and the fun! Wouldn’t you!?

How was your weekend?

    1. Yeah Phoenix AZ is a big desert. Its no fun down there this time of year and I try to avoid trips down to Phoenix if at all possible! I’ll wait til like October to go down there!

  1. Sounds like really fun weekend indeed. Love the photos too and yikes that’s even hotter than where I am in the Asia. It was 104 degree the other day and it was freaking hot already lol

  2. Wish I could’ve gotten out of the heat this weekend! My husband headed up to your area for some camping but I was home with the kids. Pretty mellow weekend- just errands, laundry, and church.

  3. Sounds like such a fun time! What a fun weekend… I packed all weekend as we moved today but I’d much rather be doing what you did! Looks like a great time.

  4. What fun! That’s what weekends are for aren’t they? I spent this last weekend with friends at a pond. The moonlight on the water Saturday night was beautiful.

  5. I think spending time with friends in a casual, low key environment is one of the best things ever. I much prefer going over to a friend’s home for wine, good conversation and laughter than going to a club. It’s the simple things. 🙂

  6. What a great weekend with friends! I love when friends come to visit but I also know first-hand how it throws a wrench in your regular weekend prep/planning!

  7. How fun! That sounds like a great weekend. We spent our weekend outside on trails near us. Enjoying as much Summer as we can before it’s gone!

  8. Your pictures are absolutely beautiful, it looks like you had beautiful weather! I love the depth and colour of the sky in your photos, so cool!
