It has been years since I have been able to do something that will be soul filling. Don’t get me wrong, I go to a really good church that fills my soul on Sundays. But this is different. This is a chance to dive into things a little deeper and to maybe grow even more in my walk with the Lord. Next Friday I get to go on a women’s retreat with my church and specifically with my MOMSnext group way up in the Rocky Mountains! I am so glad I decided to be brave last year and join MOMSNext so I could get plugged in. It was just what I needed to do after moving to Colorado.
Not only am I going on the retreat, I am also a cabin room host. I never expected that! But a friend volunteered me, ha ha!
So my question to you is what lights the fire in your soul? What is your soul yearning for? What does it need? What makes you want to be in community with other people?
For me, it’s a sense of belonging. For a long time I didn’t know where I belonged. I’m slowly finding that. Actually it’s not happening so slowly anymore at all. It’s happening pretty fast. I am connected to my community, my kids’ school, my church….and it feels good. I have purpose. I have goals. I feel driven again. I feel excited to wake up in the morning again and tackle the day. It feels really good.
What is making you feel good? I know a year ago, I still felt a little lost. I’m growing…I’m learning….I’m evolving. I’m empowered now.
