Inspired by Julie and Julia

I am inspired again! I went through a big stretch where I felt like I didn’t have any original thought. Any idea I had or wanted to write about, “well surely someone else has already done it”. And maybe someone somewhere has already done it. But maybe the person reading this post or any of the posts I write, haven’t. Maybe one of my posts truly will inspire someone. I have to stop assuming that no one will like my take on something.

My dear childhood friend Tiffany who lives all the way at the south end of the state mailed me a copy of Julie and Julia. She has told me for the last couple of years that I remind her of Julie in the movie with my blogging. She said Heather you have to watch this movie, its you!! I searched for it on Netflix…couldn’t find it…forgot about it until I opened a package last weekend and tucked inside the envelope was “Julie and Julia”. This morning, after a late night fireworks showing, I decided instead of staying in bed and having all my lady parts trampled over by two restless boys, I’d pop that movie in and watch it.  I watched it and realized once again, hey this lady right here, typing up this post does have some great ideas and things people on the other side of the screen may just need to read, or want to read.

We’ll find out.

But the point of this post is to simply say…I’m back!!

Next on the list, or should I say my editorial calendar is well…how to make an editorial calendar. That post is inspired by one of my long time readers, Lisa. I’ll be writing about how to make a blogging editorial calendar using a day planner. Creating an editorial calendar helps you to organize your post from its first word, right down to content and photos and it also helps to keep you inspired. I realize when I’ve gone through long periods of being uninspired, it’s because I didn’t jot anything down. I have two “idea” notebooks just for scribbling ideas in about blogging. I haven’t been writing in them….hence why I’ve been living in blogging blah land. Well having both a notebook and a day planner for this helps when you are having writers block.

I’ll share some of the recipes I made up yesterday which will include shrimp kabobs and hatch green chili salsa! Also check out my latest, “Mom’s best friend” recipe, Pizza Mac n’ Cheese

And Tiffany if you are reading this….thanks again for the inspiration!
