So awhile back I reviewed some Mia Mariu make-up. I fell in love with a beautiful shade of pink lipstick I love wearing and a pallet of eye shadow and blush, so I am no stranger to their products. I just got a chance to review Mia Mariu’s Refreshing Foaming Cleanser. I like it because it reminds me a lot of the current product I use, which was recommended to me by a dermatologist for its gentleness on the skin. Back when I was having skin problems where I was prone to breaking out, it was recommended that I use a product as gentle on your skin as baby shampoo is on babies. A few months after washing my face I noticed less and less breakouts and this Mia Mariu Refreshing Foaming Cleanser has the same consistency and clear gel color as the current product I use. I like that it comes in a nice squeeze top bottle and can be easily closed up when traveling and is definitely a good-sized bottle to fit in your cosmetic bag.
When you open Mia Mariu’s Refreshing Foaming Cleanser you get a fresh scent of citrus, and the clear gel cleanser glides over your face with your fingertips so easily. There is nothing harsh about this cleanser, it will not leave your face feeling dry or irritated after washing it, like some cleansers do. It’s as gentle as it comes to an effective face cleanser. The best part about it, is that it’s paraben free, sulfate free and fragrance-free, even though you do smell that citrusy smell. It just means added smells are not put in into the product to make it smell a certain way. It has a citrusy smell due to what is in it, which includes Aloe, marigold, sea kelp, sea lettuce, plus nourishing essential oils along with orange peel, lemon, lime, and grapefruit. The aloe and sea lettuce are anti-inflammatory and will help with any reddening of your skin due to irritation.
Now due to having acne prone skin, I rarely do reviews where I put my skin through a lot of changes with different products. I like to stick to what works, or stay very close to what I know works for me when I do reviews, and because I know everyone’s skin tends to be a little different, you have oily, dry etc. This gentle cleanser is really the thing that can combat both oily and dry or irritated skin and I can safely recommend it is to a wide variety of people.
Did you know that one reason a lot of people suffer from skin that is too oily is because they are using cleansers that are too harsh? They think they need to combat the oil with harsh facial cleanser and that only makes the oil production on your face worse. Using a gentle cleanser on oily skin can slow down that process. At least according to a dermatologist I know. 😉
Back a few years ago I tried one of those thirty-day subscription brand kits. You know the kind? I’m trying not to name any other brands here but you’ve all seen the TV ads showing its a miracle cure for acne. Well, it wasn’t for me. Holy shitballs did it make my acne worse! So not only was I combating more acne popping up everywhere, I had dry cracked peeling skin going on and when I called the company to ask what I should do, they said, “Oh just give it time, your face will adjust”. It never adjusted! Nor did I really want to keep putting stuff on my face every day that made it feel horribly itchy and red and gross just hoping it would “soon clear up”. Stay away from stuff like that with a ten-foot pole! If it has a bad effect on your face once, it will always have a bad effect on your face.
Anyway, back to Mia Mariu’s foaming cleanser. It’s perfectly gentle, if not really slippery between your fingers and is non-irritating. It will leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed and touch-ably soft. I highly recommend it for both people who suffer from inflammation, moderate acne and oily or very sensitive skin.
I should also mention that Mia Mariu gave me some sample packets of things to try before and after using Mai Mariu’s foaming cleanser. Two packets you are supposed to use together, one is a microdermabrasion thermal activator that you are supposed to combine with the refinisher cream. It seems kind of like a warm sea salt scrub for your face and I liked it. I rarely use stuff like that, so it was a nice treat for my face and my face felt tingly and very well cleansed after I used the foaming cleanser to remove it. I was also given a packet of the SPF 30 hydrating moisturizer. I’m not sure if I like the moisturizer though as I’m used to a much lighter face lotion and I think with the SPF 30 it made the lotion so much thicker. It would be fine for outdoor use, but it seemed to be too thick of a moisturizer for what I like to use on my face.
But back to the cleanser, which I give two thumbs up for, Mia Mariu is letting one awesome reader try a bottle for themselves, so if this has peaked your interest, please enter the giveaway below!
