I keep telling myself, I’ll pick up blogging again after we move but at the same time, I’m not sure what is holding me back from blogging in my spare time now. I think I’m just at a crossroads here and I’m not sure what it is I want to say. My head is all over the place. One minute I’m excited to move to Colorado. The next minute I’m sad and weepy and can’t stop crying about all the friends and family we are leaving behind and the home I’ve grown to love. It is nine days until we move to Colorado! Nine! That is not a lot of time left to pack up our lives and head to another state to hopefully plant some roots. There’s a lot of goodbyes that have to be made, a lot of things that will be missed, people places….OUR HOME.
This was the home I fell in love with when I first walked through it. I didn’t want anything more or less than this space right here. But God often has other plans for your life and you have to be willing to roll with the punches if you are going to make life worth while again. Things might get tough or sad for a little while, but if you keep putting one foot in front of the other, you’ll get back to where you were again. At least that is my hope.
I’m nervous to live so far away from the people I know. I’m nervous starting over again. I’m nervous about the 8-hour drive to Colorado by myself with two children. Driving the whole way makes me extremely nervous. I’m nervous about my husband breaking down with our U-haul in the middle of nowhere. There’s a lot to be nervous about, but like I said above, we just have to put one foot in front of the other and keep on keeping on.
How far away have you moved? How long did it take you to adjust to life in your new surroundings? How long were you homesick for? I know I will be homesick.
