Yep, I am no longer the mother of a toddler. I can say with somewhat certainty that the toddler years are behind me. While Braidy still acts very much like a three-year-old, he will soon embrace his four-year-old age and I’ll just be left with the memories of the toddler hugs and kisses and cute antics.
Yesterday we had a birthday party at a gymnastics place in town. It was his first birthday party with friends. Due to his party being so close to Thanksgiving we’ve always just had a family get together or combined his birthday celebration with Thanksgiving.
This time I thought he should have a birthday party with his friends. Summit Gymnastics allowed us to invite 10 other kids, so if you didn’t get an invite please understand. We were limited to ten children and I had to include siblings and since we had just hosted Thanksgiving I didn’t want to turn around a day and a half later and have another celebration at home. It was just too much for this mama.
But the kiddos got to run and jump and play in a block pit and do an obstacle course and other fun games with an instructor.
He wanted to eat when they were playing games and he wanted to play when we were eating and it was so very Braidy, never wanting to do what everyone else is doing. But that’s ok, I love that kid anyway.
Mr. B jumping as high as he can.
The awesome foam block pit the kids get to jump into.
Because we only had 90 minutes to play, the kids had their fun on the gym equipment, we ate pizza and cake, but we had to load the gifts up in the car and take them home for him to open. I just made sure I took little videos of Braidy opening each gift and sent it to the person who gave it, so they got to see his reaction.
And of course one of the things that I do every single year is make a birthday collage of that year’s videos and photos. This year didn’t disappoint although it was one of the shortest videos I’ve ever made of the boys! It was only a half an hour-long!

This gift is from his grand parents in Texas. (Thank you Mel and Rich)

The first of many I’m sure, since Christmas is right around the corner! 😉
