Yesterday I had my baby shower! It was good ol fashion fun with the cheesiest of baby shower games. You wouldn’t believe that my husband actually came up with two of the games (well he researched baby shower games online) and found two he thought we should play. We did the infamous chocolate candy in diapers game. I actually had never played it at a baby shower before, but everyone I talked to said, you have to play that game it’s so fun. So we did it. I of course had to take pictures of all my friends smelling or even tasting the chocolate in the diapers. It was hilarious and will go up on Facebook! 😉
But what overwhelmed me the most were the people who showed up. It’s sometimes really hard to live so far away from all your friends. I guess I’m lucky though because I do have a lot of friends and I only live two hours away, not across the country or anything. I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who traveled up from Phoenix to see me. It was really special and it was fun to reminisce with my high school buds. I think in this generation Facebook has been a great thing for keeping us all connected. Even though I hadn’t seen Mylinda in 11 years, I felt like time hadn’t passed at all. She brought her one year old son who was adorable and I hadn’t met yet and my friend Amber made me a cake! My friend Dominee splurged for a rental car to drive them all up in. It feels great to have friends like that.
Then my family got together and all put money in for me to get professional pregnancy pictures taken. I am really excited about this. The last pictures we had taken were done at Sears. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t as creative as I would have liked them to be. It was an amazing gift that they all went in on and I am overwhelmed that some of them, whom I know don’t have that much disposable cash contributed so much monetarily for me! For me!? I am truly thankful and blessed by my family and friends! Thank you so much!!!
I can’t believe in just 9 weeks I’ll be holding a beautiful little person in my arms. It’s strange how when you are pregnant it goes by so slow and so fast at the same time.
