Last week was Spring Break for my Kindergartner and we decided it would be fun to travel with my husband to a conference for work. We went to Vegas and stayed at the beautiful Venetian Hotel. We’ve never stayed at this hotel before, and boy was it fancy!
View of our room on the 20th floor!
And this bathroom really does have a TV in it on the wall!
This was the view out our hotel window last Wednesday. If you saw my post on instagram that said “Where am I?” and you guessed Vegas, you know this town well then. 😉
Boy has Vegas changed from 6 years ago when I was last there. Most of the Forum shops in the Venetian, you have to be a millionaire to shop in. $85 dollar jeans I looked at and well put right back on the rack. 😉
But besides that, the kiddos and I had fun walking around Vegas while Hunky Hubs was in his conference.
On conference day, Hubby woke up, kissed us goodbye and headed off to sit in a meeting for 8 hours. 😉 The kids and I started the day walking down to the Denny’s right outside the Venetian across from the Mirage Hotel that does an awesome Volcanic Fire show about every 45 minutes at night.
After fueling up, we walked to the Fashion Mall which had the Lego store! Of course the kids were entertained and it was a way to pass time and let them play a little bit at the play stations. This Lego store had a Duplo block play station, perfect for my three-year old, while my older son made friends with a kiddo his age and didn’t want to leave until I promised ice cream! 😉
Each kiddo got one Lego set from the store and then we headed back to the hotel room to change into our swim suits and hang out by the pool.
JJ found a little girl his age and chatted her up. It was kind of cute because he was showing off a bit. 😉 (This is six years old)
Braidy got a bit tired and cold, so he hung out with me in the warm sun as I realized how nice it was in that moment to be away from Flagstaff and out of the cold.
Macaroons, because well, I love them! Even though highly over priced!
Below is a living statue! I forgot that the Venetian did this. Its kinda cool how “still” they can be. They always give it away when they blink or divert their eyes though. This totally intrigued the kids!
That evening after Hunky Hubs got out of his conference we decided to grab some dinner and do the touristy thing. I had never been to the wax museum so we decided to go.
It was pretty fun to see how realistic the wax manikin looked.
Hunky Hubs is a big Dale Earnhardt fan and this was a fun one for him with Braidy of course drinking out of the championship cup! 😉
An episode of Jerry Springer I hope I’m never on! LOL 😉
Gotta love Will Smith!
Future Talk Show Host?? Maybe?
After that we grabbed dessert and watched the Volcanic Fire Show at the Mirage and headed back to the room.
The boys were tuckered out and the next day I sang “Leaving Las Vegas” as we packed up and headed out of town. It was nice to get away for a few days!
