Before I get into today’s post, the above image I took at Bear Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park when my friend Tiffany flew out for a visit! Isn’t it beautiful? I can’t believe I get to live just a short hour away from here!!
Anyway, in today’s world, we are so busy…always on the go with work life and family life often leaving little room for anyone else. However, studies show that when you get together with friends they can help improve your sense of self-worth, improve your confidence and help you relax and have a little fun.
Last week my friend Tiffany made the time to come visit me. Before that, it had been since November that I’d seen a familiar face from Arizona. While I’m working on making friends here (and I think I have at least one), its been hard sometimes figuring out just who I am here in Northern Colorado and where I fit in this new world we entered. In this stage of my parenting life, my children are in school and my possibilities for entrepreneurship are open to many things via blogging, growing my Youtube Channel, local marketing and possibly a little more. While that door isn’t fully open yet due to parenting responsibilities and no village, I’m hoping I’ve finally gained the confidence to grow more than I have in the last 9 years of motherhood. These last nine years have felt like the world was spinning by while I stood still trying to figure out “me” and what I can contribute not only to my family but to a life I can feel proud of.
Anway, our visit helped me see that I was stuck and I think a small portion of that “stuck feeling” has been in my head. While I don’t have a village yet, I can create it by just putting myself out there a little more. I don’t have to be as stuck as I feel. I had this thought that I had to have it all figured out to move forward, which was keeping me standing in the same place. I don’t have to have it all figured out. I can keep moving forward and change things up when things don’t work out the way I expect them to work.
Do you ever feel stuck, emotionally, physically, mentally or even maybe in your career or personal goals or endeavors? I do all the time. I sometimes don’t know where to start to get out of the emotional, physical and mental ruts so it keeps me from starting at all. But sometimes you just have to begin somewhere and then smooth things out as you move along.
So that will be my goal over the next month to organize, implement and roll with changes.
How are you hoping to change up your life or routine going forward? Do you have any tips? I’d love to hear them.
