The Denver Zoo

Last Thursday we had the opportunity to go to the zoo expenses paid. It was great because our family has never been to the zoo here in Colorado. I have to say that it was a lot smaller than the Phoenix zoo, which was shocking to me. But they are in the process of adding new areas to the zoo. It also shocked me that the zoo was only open until 4:30 in the afternoon. I thought that it had to have been a typo or something, but it’s true it closes really early in the day and I’m uncertain why.

My favorite part of the zoo trip was seeing the seals. We saw some amazing things from giant man eating anacondas. I’d hate to clean that habitat. But we saw all kinds of living creatures from glow in the dark frogs, to zebras and of course elephants, lions and hyenas.

Our day at the zoo started off with being treated to lunch. The lunch was pretty awesome. The kids even got ice cream as a desert after their lunch. After lunch our first stop was to see giraffes then the seals stole the show because we could hear them barking from the zebra exhibit.

Braidy’s well timed picture.

The picture above was perfect timing as the seal barked. I love this picture!

Here’s some other images we took of animals at the zoo.

You can’t tell but the fastest part of this anaconda is bigger than the waist of my seven year old…and who knows how long it stretched.

Licking its chops like I’m lunch.

This was the funniest thing to witness. This monkey just hanging from the rope over a walkway.

What’s your zoo like? Have you been lately?
