So last week we took the kids on the Polar Express! It was so fun seeing my son excited the days before we went. Hunky Hubs had to keep telling him, you get to go see the North Pole in “2 more sleeps”, or just “One more Sleep JJ and you get to go on the Polar Express”. Then the day we finally went, he was so excited. He woke up from his nap, got in his pajamas and put his Christmas robe on and he had to have a bell, just like the boy in the movie.
Here he is, ready hours ahead of time waiting for daddy to get home so we can go.
When daddy finally got home he was soo ready to go. We hopped in the car and headed to Williams, where the “Polar Express” picks kids up.
We got to will-call to pick up our tickets and then headed to the Cafe there to get a bite to eat before we boarded the train.
Christmas tree at will-call
They have a nice little Buffet type restaurant that we were able to grab dinner at and Hunky Hubs found one of the Polar Express tickets in the gift shop there and got it for JJ. He was so excited to have his own ticket!
Soon it was time to board the train. When we got on the “choo choo” as Braidy said he was so happy when he sat down in one of the seats.
This is his “cheese” face when ever you get the camera out! 😉
So after you board the train, the train very slowly departs from Williams and cookies and hot chocolate are served just like in the movie!
Then you go thru this time warp tunnel, that gets you to the North Pole.
JJ was glued to the window the whole time hoping to spot the North Pole!
Of course he enjoyed his hot chocolate and cookies too. 😉
Occasionally our conductor would come on the speaker and tell us how far away we were from the North Pole. JJ was getting excited, every light he saw outside he thought was the North Pole. But when we got close all the kids crowded around one side of the train as we approached The North Pole and JJ got to see Santa Waving atop of his sleigh. He was soo excited!
So we start heading back and JJ was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to actually get off the train and go into the North Pole or talk to Santa.
So we will be doing the “North Pole Experience” next year where JJ gets to go into the North Pole and see the elves making toys and stuff.
But JJ still got to see Santa because Santa boarded the train and gave each little kid a bell.

The boys and I.
They fell asleep instantly when we got in the car and I’m sure visions of Santa and the North Pole were dancing in their heads as we laid them back in their beds when we got home. I was wondering if JJ would think it was all a dream the next morning. He was so cute, just like in the movie, he grabbed his robe the next morning and it still had Santa’s bell in it.
It was such a fun a experience for JJ. Braidy is still a bit young to understand Santa and things like this yet. But he had fun just being on a “Choo choo” 🙂
