Timeless Summer

Well, here I sit 4 days into summer break and I have got a whole calendar full of things I want to do with the kids. We’ve already been swimming and had friends over and made smoothies, watched movies and stayed up well past bedtime….isn’t that the joys of summer? Doing something where you don’t need to look at a clock, you can just enjoy being in the moment?

Yeah that’s what I love about it. I like letting the kids back outside to play after dinner because the sun goes down later, I like cold treats and spontaneous afternoon naps cuddled up with the kids on the couch after a day at the pool. I will treasure these days and look fondly on them when I’m wearing thermal underwear huddled by a fire dreaming of a warmer time.

  1. Sounds fun! We’re spending the summer with the in-laws as we wait for the house we bid on to become available. One week down, 8 weeks to go! 🙂

  2. I’m with you, so happy that summer has arrived and we can have some schedule-free days! Cold treats and naps in the afternoon are so awesome, will definitely treasure the memories this winter and long for more!

  3. Summer is my favorite time of year. I love when my kiddo is out of school. We try to do a lot during the summer. We have done a lot of swimming and will be going out of town on vacation soon! I really love summer too!

  4. My husband I are both going back to school. He already started, I start in the fall. So I am making an effort to make a fun summer for the kids. Nothing better than cool treats, late days, and lots of fun.

  5. It is a joyful time having the kids home from school. I take care of my grandchildren while my son works. I do have a hard time at times coming up with something to entertain them though. Thank you so much for sharing
