We Spent Halloween At Disneyland!

Yes! You read that right! We went to Disneyland again last week. It’s a big thing for us since we are not native Californians. See we went to Disneyland back in May and my husband loved the trip and the time off from work so much that as soon as we got home in May he booked the next trip! He thought it would be a blast to trick or treat at Disneyland. My sister-in-law and her husband went the previous year at Halloween and told us all about how fun it was, and we couldn’t resist partaking in the Disney celebration!

Of course, at the time we didn’t even think about JJ needing to take a week off from school, but at least its Kindergarten and we collected the things he needed to work on for the following week so he could do it before going back to school.

So of course before any holiday, there’s frantic packing going on. Last Christmas, a friend of mine bought me designer luggage sets which I used for this trip. There’s no better way to go to Disneyland, than in style.

So we hit the road last Monday and spent an entire week there! We stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel on the 13th floor overlooking California Adventures! It was an amazing view!

We even got to see the amazing “World of Color” show right from our hotel window every night we were there.

Just about 6 months later, JJ was able to ride on rides he couldn’t go on back in May! He wasn’t tall enough for Goofy’s Sky School then, but could go on it now. He also has developed a thrill for rides as he went on Tower of Terror with daddy and Space Mountain with me. Although he didn’t like the Space Mountain ride due to the “scary monster” since they “Halloweenized” a bunch of their rides.

In May when we went a bunch of rides were closed like Pirates of the Caribbean, The Grizzly River Run, The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and a few others, but this time not only were they open, but JJ was tall enough to ride them! That’s a lot of growing in six months huh?

So of course, we got in all the rides we got in last time and a few favorites of mine Like California Screamin’.

I enjoyed seeing Disneyland decorated for Halloween though! It was magical!

I loved it all and it made me want to go back to Disneyland for Christmas sometime!

We also enjoyed Character dinning on Halloween morning!

Got in some more rides that little Braidy would enjoy like Dumbo and the tea cups.

Then we went back to the hotel room so we could give Braidy a nap because we knew he was in for a long night trick or treating at the Disneyland shops and restaurants.

JJ as Darth Vader!
Braidy as Olaf!
Hunky Hubs as a Pirate!
Me, as a Female Pirate or Piratess?

After we filled our bags with pounds of Candy and got in a few more rides and Mickey’s Halloween party we enjoyed a breathtaking and spooky fireworks show!

Overall, it was a blast of a vacation! I totally recommend visiting Disneyland over Halloween and paying for Mickey’s Halloween party! Its only open to guests that have purchased those tickets. So some rides were walk on rides and if you wanted to ride it again, you could over and over!

Do you have any fun trips planned for the Holidays? Have you ever been to Disneyland/World on Halloween?

  1. I live near Disney World, grew up near Disney Land, and have NEVER spent a Halloween at Disney. I am missing out! Looks like you had a blast! 😀

  2. Oh my gosh, that looks like SO much fun! Mymother-in-law is moving to Florida soon, and is trying to get us to visit her sometime this winter… we’ll see how that goes. We have a lot on our plate right now!

Oh, and BTW, you hair is gorgeous curly! It makes me want a perm SO bad!

    1. Also keep in mind, that when we went on the Monday right before Halloween, there were rides that you could walk right onto, no lines. Sometimes the off season is the best time to go. I hate waiting in long lines.

    2. Its great this time of year because most kids are in school, so the lines are not as bad. Some rides at certain parts of the day, we were able to just get right on without having to wait.
