I hardly ever review books because it can take me a while to finish them. I often don’t make enough time to read for personal pleasure, but when I was asked to check out and review the book “When God Happens”, I knew this was my kind of book. I have not been shy in sharing on this blog with you how I believe God stepped in and that His hand was in every detail that moved us from Flagstaff Arizona to Rifle Colorado, to now Northern Colorado.
The move was scary, I’d never moved states before. It was painful (I was leaving behind a mom tribe). It was lonely. I had no one but my husband and two kids to lean on. But it lead us to a more stable way of living and a deeper trust in God’s blessings on our lives. I believe we ended up exactly where He wanted us. Sometimes the way events unfold in our lives can only be seen in hindsight when we’ve been through it and we can look back on the miracle that lead us to where we are now.
This book explores God’s modern-day miracles in moments of divine intervention when the hand of God was briefly and beautifully revealed. God works in mysterious ways and this book invites you to reflect on how God has worked in your life by sharing eight personal accounts of how God stepped in and was very present during times when people needed God most in their lives.
In the mornings I love to read my bible verse of the day, sip some coffee and do some light journaling before I hit one of the trails for exercise. During that time I love reflecting on how God has worked in my life. This book has been a great additional read to my morning routine. It can be a great read as well if you need reassurance that God still performs modern-day miracles and that He hasn’t left us.
Sometimes we think that miracles only happen in biblical times. I can tell you that God is present every day if you are tuned in to Him. God is not a genie in a bottle granting wishes. God often moves in people’s lives who need Him the most when our spirits need personal growth and healing. While I still feel very deep pain of being uprooted from my previous home, town, and people I called family. I know I’m growing through this and that we are better off here, where we are now. I know this because HE made it happen.
“When God Happens” will help you see God’s miracles in your life and in others. It’s definitely like a Chicken Soup for the Soul kind of book. I encourage anyone looking for God’s miracles in life to give this book a read. You’ll love it! I highly recommend it. It’s really helped seal any doubts I had about how God has worked in my own life and helped me realize what I already knew. As always if you decide to purchase this book from my Amazon associate’s account, I might make a few cents off your purchase that helps my family out a little. This book is also available on Kindle and you can find that link below too.
