When You Try To Do Something Yourself And Screw It Up

I am so mad at myself, I spent two hours this morning trying to put the kids’ trampoline together…and when I got to the netting part, I realized I did it wrong. I could do it all over again by myself, but I’ll wait for Scott’s help when he gets home from work because I’m just too tired and my hands feel like raw meat from pulling on those springs. Also, the little girls next door are not too happy they have to wait to jump on it. Oh well.

So I’ve spent another weekend here at the new house trying to get our life in order. Jaydon has a week and a half left of summer and I want it all in order before he starts school. At least with the neighborhood kids, he’s had a lot of fun this summer playing outside and getting to know new kiddos. However, I’m feeling a bit of a time crunch. I know once school starts, life will get a little bit hectic again those first few weeks of school especially getting the kids back on a set schedule with homework, piano practice and bedtime.

I think also once I get the house in order, the blog will be in order too. I really can’t wait to start blogging more. We are oh so close to having it all done. We are a few weeks away from having the blinds we ordered in, so we can have some more privacy.

Anyway, that’s a quick update. I have to get the garage in order still, add more boxes to the crawl space, hang some more pictures and hopefully, go shopping next weekend for a sleeper sofa for guests and hopefully then…it will be in order!! Wish me luck!

  1. I’m not very adventurous in the DIY department. If I’m not completely sure how to do it, I go with someone who does.

  2. I often attempt to do things around the house, to not always depend on my husband. But I’m not to mechanical /technical, so my success rate is not A+. I usually don’t take things to the point of breaking something before calling in his help!

  3. I can’t count how many times I try to do something myself and screw it up. At least we learn from our mistakes. Good luck on your garage, that is an overwhelming chore by itself.
